Over the years, we have witnessed remarkable progress and positive change within our communities thanks to the collective efforts of businesses, individuals, organizations, and leaders. We are blessed with many stakeholders who are passionate about enhancing the quality of life for our current and future residents.

 

Rural King has proudly called Mattoon and Coles County home for over six decades. The organization is beyond grateful to work with and support the amazing communities around us. Through this feeling, the vision to create a new resource others can use to share about our great area came to life. The Compass guide and website has been a collaborative effort, working with many community partners, that has grown well beyond what we first imagined. The intention is for this publication to continue to grow and evolve, much like our communities, to include all the amazing benefits Coles County has to offer.
